Depending on if I eat an actual meal at the airport tomorrow night or not, I just had my last dinner in Japan on this trip, so of course I had curry.
Actually that was not the plan but it took me a long time to edit upload and make hilarious comments on my hiking photos from earlier in the day so it was late by the time I got to Akihabara. Then there was a combination of long lines at the non bar type places that were still open, combined with places that were closing at 8pm. The locals need to figure it out, 8pm is peak time for tourists wanting dinner in Akihabara.
I decided to go somewhere else for dinner, so the next plan was to board a random subway train and see where it went, I selected nearby Iwamotocho station as my departure point. Trains did not come. I waited 15 minutes and a bunch of announcements were made and everyone, including me exited the station.
So I decided just to walk back to my local area and see what I could find. And I found curry and it was good.
Flower shops are everywhere for drunk businessmen to apologise with. This one has particularly blinding lights.
Akihabara time. Everyone has been here. I was here a few weeks ago. I never actually seem to go into any of the shops, just walk through it and observe all the tourists, of which I am one.
Go karts have evolved. Now they are car shaped, but go kart sized with angel wings. Please do not give yah kart any of your money. Sadly more go karts to come tonight too.
Street scene.
The electronics store so big it has a food court.
Yep, more go karts. Blue ones this time. I also nearly got run over (again) by the red ones. I feel as though there must now be more than 50 groups of these terrorising the streets every night.
Finally, here is my curry. It is a bit different. First of all you get a big cube of fatty pork (on the left). Then the brown stuff on top of the rice is a pepper and spice mix. You could customise how much pepper and how much chilli you want. It was very good. Plus, baby corn on top, which always means it is a good meal.
Tomorrow is actually the longest day of all. My flight is at 9:55pm, I have to check out of my hotel by 11am. I plan to go somewhere quite far away to kill time by sitting on trains.
