My last night in Niigata and after editing and annotating about 1000 photos I was ready to head out for an evening saunter and some food, only to discover a flood awaiting. Niigata shall forever be remembered by me as the rainy city.
Accuweather told me it would stop raining in 20 minutes, that was wrong. Not so accurate then. So I decided to get wet.
Due to the rain, huge number of photos earlier when it looked rainy but was not as rainy, plus a lack of new places to explore all contributed to, not many photos this evening, again.
Tomorrow I will move cities to Toyama, a place I have also been to once before. I will take a combo of a bullet train and then a normal train to get there, with complex ticketing, so look forward to that rant. I have not checked the forecast for Toyama yet, I am afraid to.
Yes, it is raining, and there are puddles that are a foot or more deep. Just when I thought I had done a good job drying my shoes.
Another rainy wet street, admittedly, not raining as much now.
I took a photo of this street area from above 2 nights ago, here it is from ground level.
It being Monday, and the old adage of 'mostly closed on Monday', plus places closing at 7pm, I decided I had better hurry up and choose my dinner location. Pasta it was, and from a casual sit down table service restaurant rather than a booth with a tray. Still it was only $10, and pretty good too.
I climbed up an overpass to take another rain photo, worth it.
And finally, another photo of the busiest street in Niigata... still raining.
