Sydney - new camera

I cracked under the total lack of pressure and bought a full frame Sony a7ii with 28mm f/2 lens. These are the first photos taken with it.
Although I had rawtherapee on my work laptop, I couldnt really be bothered learning how to correctly export the raws, so these are jpegs straight out of camera, unedited, apart from resizing in paint dot net.
You can see larger versions and exif data if you click on the photos.

UPDATE!!!: I re edited these in lightroom and added some from another night in Sydney a couple of days later, so ignore everything I said above about straight out of camera jpegs.

Blurring backgrounds while riding the bus to Melbourne airport.

A random hotel at Melbourne airport, looks sharp, nice clouds.

Blue hour in Sydney, town hall.

Rail bridge near my hotel, hand holding 1/10 shutter and f/5.6 for some starbeams.

Handheld out of my hotel window, one handed! The window only opened a tiny amount. 1/10 shutter.

Obviously, another one from my hotel window. A little bit blurry, but it was 1/8 one handed.

The local theatre, showing Jersey Boys.

Street art, now edited and cropped.

The entrance to Dixon street Chinatown, boosted shadows of course.

Everyone lines up here for the little deep fried custard puffs, EMPEROR puffs.

Back street in Chinatown, lots of people take a photo here. I tried to make it look a bit matte and waxy.

The other end of Chinatown, I am genetically pre disposed to enjoy darkness with red lights.

And on that note, here is the local tourist information centre. Heavy crop.

Random ad on pole, with blurred background.

For years now, the main street in Sydney, George Street, has been dug up for the construction of a light rail up the middle. It is still nowhere near finished.

48 hours later and I am out again, couldnt go jogging because it is raining, here is harrys cafe de wheels, popular with drunks at 3am.

I enjoyed taking the construction photo the other night, so why not another?

This is the top floor food court in haymarket, I like the colors and depth in this or something.

Another kind of photo I might take in Japan.

I think the camera did really well here, zooming in on the salmon game I can see the pixels in the screen, even though its quite slow at 1/60, very sharp.

Dodgem (bumper) cars with a bit of blurrrr.

Sydney street art is nowhere near as good as Melbourne street art.
