A very grey Port Melbourne
Took a long walk around Port Melbourne for the second to last day of a very cold summer. Fittingly, it was grey and cold, although a bit of twilight sun appeared just as it was time to go home.
Here is a silly little lighthouse. I played with this photo for a while in Lightroom. Not entirely happy with how it looks. Tried to make it matte looking, failed.
Full zoom over at the container port. My destination is around the other side of it after walking around a path on the edge of the Ocean.
More pylons, like last night. These ones are very popular with photographers at sunset. Lowered the contrast here.
Lower angle, more contrast. More dramatic. An even lower angle would be better, but I would have to get in the Ocean.
The beaches here are not really used by anyone, because they are crap. The seagull enjoys the time to himself.
Getting closer to the container port. This shot came out pretty good. Light was getting a bit brighter.
On my way back and the great twilight light appeared. I probably left a bit too early as the light got better after I was back on the tram. This is the light I like, I guess everyone does.
f/2.8 1/2000 second. Ths fastest the shutter can go. But dont worry, camera has a built in ND filter if its still too bright. I like this shot.
More thoughts...
Second half of this set with the better light came out better than the first half. Need to up my game for processing gloomy grey shots of greyness.
