Lakes Entrance day 3

Xmas day at Lakes Entrance. Time to visit numerous beaches and take photos of lots of sand and blue sky.

The first beach of the day, East beach. Despite the perfect weather there is basically no one here. It might look like there are a few people on the beach but...

Look the other way and there is absolutely no one.

My attempt at a straight sky. I have worked out that I always get the horizon crooked in the same direction by the same amount. My brain is wonky.

Second beach area now, Lake Tyers beach. Possibly named because people dump Tyers in it, except the spelling is wrong.

The view from the lookout was good.

Time for another spooky pathway photo.

A bit more view, with trees and people.

A framed view. The sea was not angry.

Now I have descended to the actual Tyers Lake, which was an interesting place. I think it is the end of the river I walked up yesterday.

The lake area is a huge amount of sparsely populated sand, islands, and slime. Here is a little island to walk to.

You can only get to these places without getting wet at low tide.

Another island in the distance to head towards, and no people. Look closely on the left edge and you can see a bit of human construction.

So much sand.

And even more sand.

The ground was salty and crusty, just how I like it.

So very very crusty. I edited this one to make it look more desolate. I should have messed with the sky.

The water and islands in these inland lakes are not really a tropical paradise, but are very interesting and despite being a few miles from town, you can have the whole place to yourself.

Back on the other side of town at Bullock island there were many Pelicans being entertained by Chinese tourists trying to catch crabs to feed themselves because every store, including Mcdonalds, is closed.

Hours later and its time to head out for the evening walk along the island to the entrance and into the sunset. Here is the view of the inland lake... more on this view later.

One last photo to reflect on the boats I keep taking photos of.

Very happy with the sunstars in this photo.

A few more boats.

Some mossy rocks.

After a walk up the secluded middle part of the island, I arrived at the actual entrance. There were seals frolicking in the current, but I couldnt photograph them.

There are numerous navigation markers to calibrate if you get bored.

The sunset was approaching, I still had a long walk along the beach left.

Before then, looking back up the entrance.

Time to head back along the beach with the sun on my back.

Every now and then I turned around to see the setting sun, and on this occasion a boat was passing under the sun.

Last of the beach and the sunset.

This is the surf life saving hut thing. It was almost dark by now, but dont worry....

Back over to the lakes side and the setting sun has provided an excellent spectacle.

One last long exposure opportunity.
