Emerald Puffing Billy Walk
The town of Emerald east of Melbourne has many walking tracks, a lake, and the Puffing Billy steam train running through it. It is a good place to go for a short or long walk.
Here is the lake at Emerald. As you can see and will see more of later, theres bridges and little bike boat things to rent. Sunshine at this point.
The paths are very well maintained, and lined with ferns. A good opportunity to play with the lightroom sharpness settings.
I risked death by standing on the tracks to take this photo. Luckily the steam train did not come. I wanted it to come so I could take a photo, it did not.
These 2 people are waiting for the train. I stood around for a while waiting for the train or for the 2 people to get out of my photo. Neither occurred.
An even smaller station. I think the steam train will actually stop here if you tell the driver / conductor person.
This is the main puffing billy station at Emerald. It has what appears to be a modern museum under construction just behind me. Trespassers prosecuted.
That is the train. It is small. Unfortunately unless you buy a ticket you cannot get onto the platform to get near the locomotive to take a photo. The train goes to Belgrave where the normal metro train ends.
And now that its later in the day, people are riding the bike boat things. A nice easy day of walking.
