Melbourne botanic gardens take 4
Been here with each new camera I get. This time its the Canon G1X Mark III. This was just a practice run before I go on a small holiday over easter to make sure the camera is working correctly.
Fairly boring photo first up. I took a lot of portrait orientation shots today for some reason. Its autumn but there were no really good autumn trees around.
These little statues are all over town, this one is my favourte, hi vis disco faceless wombat.
I like taking photos looking into the sun. Pine trees make them better.
Using the zoom here. Late afternoon sun.
Sky looks pretty good.
Lots of green stuff in the water today, not the best light from this side.
Pixel peeping the trees and the detail looks decent.
Photo of the day? I added a couple of gradient filters. I managed to capture the light just as the cloud moved. Theres a couple of bored guys on gondolas without customers.
Star beams and lotus lilly pad things.
No more sun, but good reflections.
Nice 3d rendering of the boat shed here. Probably brighter than the real light was.
Bonus shot, once the sun was gone the lake becomes a bit boring.
On my walk back to the city, here is a part of the city, with some kind of fair on the other side of the river.
Black swan. Good film.
And the bridge again. The tree on the left looks a bit weird, maybe it really looks like that, I didnt pay attention while I was there.
Today's thoughts...getting better with the Canon
Todays shots are pretty good, especially when there was sun involved. I think I have found a good recipe for noise reduction vs sharpening when theres good light. Still have not taken any night shots with this cam.
